I’m just finishing this challenge quilt. For the SF Quilt Guild’s March 2023 show there is a challenge to make a 20″ x 20″ quilt inspired by a Beatles song. This is Octopus’ Garden. If you click on the image, it will get larger so that you can see it better. My original idea was to make disappearing hourglass blocks for the under the sea part, and cloud/sky fabric above. After I bought the three fabrics that are in this quilt, I changed my mind. The sky fabric didn’t go with the ocean fabric, and the ocean fabric was so busy, I didn’t want to accentuate that by cutting it into blocks.
